Friendship Day

On the third week of September, we celebrated our very own Friendship Day across the school with a range of activities that encouraged pupils to think about what makes a good friend — someone who listens, includes others, shares, and shows kindness.

Classes paired up with their buddy class to take part in creative, collaborative, and fun activities, giving children the chance to make new connections and strengthen existing ones.

Some of the highlights included:

  • Creating Friendship Flowers and Handprint Art to reflect on the qualities of a good friend
  • Making Friendship Bracelets with new buddies
  • Completing All About Me and Find a Friend Who… tasks to get to know each other better
  • Taking part in Reading Buddy sessions, where older pupils read with younger classmates
  • Playing Co-operative Games and joining in on Buddy Scavenger Hunts
  • Making Friendship Wreaths and sharing ideas about friendship in everyday life

It was a thoughtful, joyful, and creative day across the school — full of meaningful conversations about kindness, respect, and the simple ways we can all be good friends to one another.
