January…
Happy New Year everyone! January has been a great month in 1st Class. We are all working super hard and we have started doing lift off to literacy three times a week. We work with a team of teachers and we play fun games, do excellent writing and learn lots of tricky words. We all have a turn to read out loud for our teacher too so we have been really enjoying ourselves. We also learned a great song this month. A million dreams from the Greatest Showman was our chosen piece and some of us even decided we would like some solo parts. The sound is wonderful. We have been doing a bit of soccer in PE and having such fun with that- some of us are a little competitive which makes it all the more exciting. We learned about the Chinese New Year, the water cycle and the Children of Lir as well as learning about the great Tom Crean. We have also started having a fruit break in the morning times. We are loving sampling all the different kinds of fruits and enjoying some of our old favourites too. It helps wake us up in the morning and means our tummies as well as our minds are ready for the day.
December…
We ended 2022 with lots of hard work and even more fun. We enjoyed lovely Christmas stories and we even had a very special visitor from the North Pole. We were all shocked when Mrs Claus turned up in our library to read us a great story. We baked cute melted snowman cookies and drank yummy hot chocolate. We had Christmas movies , songs and some of us even got festive with our wardrobes. We finished gymnastics too and we all graduated with flying colours. 2023 here we come!
October…
We have had such a busy October. We really have gotten into the swing of the school routine and we are really enjoying learning so many new things.
Our themes this month were autumn and Halloween and we had so much fun learning new and interesting things about each topic.
We gathered leaves, conkers, acorns and found all kinds of exciting things when we went on our nature walk. We were very lucky to have a trip to Garter Lane where we put on our creative thinking hats and built a city. We have been doing excellent writing and we are enjoying reading in small groups. At the end of the month, we got ready for Halloween and we had a spooklacular Halloween dress up day in school.
September…
We are all settling back into the routine of school and we are delighted to be in First Class! We are having great fun already and really looking forward to the year ahead!
