Junior Infants

Miss Quinn

February
February has been lots of fun in Junior Infants! We learned some new sounds and did lovely art based on them, ‘o’ for octopus and ‘u’ for unicorn. We finished gymnastics and got our certificates for working so hard and doing our best every week!
January
We’ve started the new year off well in Junior Infants! We were learning about clothes and running a clothes shop in aistear. We’ve learned so many of our sounds that we’re ready to start writing words! We wrote our very first reports about the penguin. We’ve also started gymnastics on Fridays which is so much fun! We’re excited to keep learning new skills every week.
In January we really enjoyed well-being week! We did yoga on Mindful Monday, we loved doing art with our buddies on Together Tuesday and we had so much fun dressing up for Wacky Wednesday! On Thankful Thursday we made happy hands, we drew and coloured things that make us happy. We had a great time dancing in the yard on Feel Good Friday. It was such a great week.
December
Our December was super busy with fun activities! We work together on puzzles, built a sleigh for Santa, got to work in Santa’s workshop and even had a visit from Mrs. Claus! She read us a lovely story and gave us a present of new books for our classroom. We also went on an adventure to the post box and posted Christmas cards home to our families.
November
November was another busy month for us, we learned about doctors and nurses and how they help us. We went looking for signs of winter and we loved pretending to be doctors!

October

We had a lot of fun doing Halloween aistear, we pretended to be witches making potions in a lab and went fishing for creepy crawlies in some spooky water. We loved dressing up and going trick or treating to the other classes!
September…

We’re already having so much fun in Ms. Quinn’s Junior Infants! We settled into big school so quickly and we’re enjoying making lots of new friends. We love playing with play dough, building with Lego and colouring. We’re looking forward to a great year ahead!

Friendship Week
For friendship week we buddied up with the girls from Mrs. O’Dwyer’s 4th Class. We did some reading and art and played together. We really enjoyed getting to know our buddies, learning each other’s favourite colours and favourite foods. We’re looking forward to doing some more activities with our buddies as the year goes on.
