Junior Infants

Miss Cullen

Hello from all in Room 4!

December… We started Aistear this term, this is where we play at different themed stations. We learned all about the Post Office and even made Santa’s Sleigh! We made bird feeders to help the little birds have full tummy’s over the Winter and hung them on the trees around our school grounds. We have really enjoyed the run up to Christmas in School, making decorations for our Winter Wonderland in School, having hot chocolate and a dance in the hall and learning a new dance to share with everyone! Happy Christmas and New Year from everyone in Room 4!

November… We started Aistear this month and our theme was ‘People Who Help Us’. We had great fun at all the stations. Check out our photographs below.

October… We have been very busy this October. We have been learning all about what happens in Autumn, how the leaves change colour and fall off the trees, how squirrels are busy gathering acorns and how some animals will be getting ready to hibernate. We went on a nature hunt, made lots of lovely Autumn Art and know a poem all about a furry squirrel. We made hedgehogs using our playdoh. We were so excited to dress up for Halloween. Ms Cullen didn’t recognise us coming through the door! We are earned a well-deserved rest over the midterm after all our hard work.

September… We have all settled really well into Junior Infants and made lots of new friends. We have been busy talking about our families and drawing Family Portraits. We have been learning a different colour each week and doing some nice Art with that colour, we loved doing our stars! We have done a lot of work on matching and sorting different objects in our classroom. We are very excited to be learning our first letter ‘S’ and even made it using playdough!
