Junior Infants

Mrs Ó hEithir

We have had a very busy few weeks in Junior Infants.

A big welcome to Alyssa who has joined our class and is settling in very well.
We are enjoying our weekly trips to the school library and are looking forward to World Book Day when we will dress up as a character from our favourite book.
We loved Wellbeing Week!
We had chocolate meditation and yoga on Mindful Monday, we completed an art activity with our buddies on Together Tuesday, we loved dressing up on Welcome to our World Wednesday, we remembered everything that we are grateful for on Thankful Thursday and we certainly had lots of fun on  Fun Friday where we danced, exercised, did an art activity and completed a “senses trail” with our friends in fifth class.
Well done to Darcie who was our Kindness Champion!

November and December…

We performed science experiments in the hall with our Sixth Class friends during science week. We are dancing our socks off every week during our Zumba classes!
We know that winter can be a tough time for the little birds in Waterford so we made bird feeders for them and hung them in our school Christmas garden.
We got beautiful cards from our Fifth Class buddies. It’s the most wonderful time of the year and we are looking forward to lots more  fun Christmas activities!
October…
In October, we really enjoyed celebrating World Mental Health Day with our buddies. We loved dressing up in green and designing our green ribbons. We enjoyed lots of Halloween fun activities in October and we loved wearing our Halloween costumes!
September…
All the girls have settled into Junior Infants so well and we are all really enjoying getting to know each other, learning together and having fun together! During Friendship Week in September, we discussed how we can do our best to be kind to each other. We met our fifth class buddies and we are delighted to be able to spend time with them. Already we have done artwork, gone on a tour of the school and completed an indoor colour hunt with them!
