A great tradition of education in Waterford since 1798

Second Class

Ms. Power

Welcome to Second Class!

Term Two…

The Red Kettle theatre company came to our school and we helped them perform their new show called ‘What a Calamity’. The show was excellent with some very important messages about climate change. It was very funny and some girls from our class got to dress up and go on stage. Do you recognise any of them?

February love is in the air. We used pointilism to create these beautiful pictures. The girls all worked really hard.

Term One…

We recently walked into Waterford City and had a guided tour of Waterford Walls. It was a great day out and we even found art that was created by students of the Presentation Primary School.

Izabela and Eve recently competed in the Cross Country races at the RSC. Both girls did really well and won medals. Well done girls!

Last week was Friendship Week and to celebrate this, there was a colouring competition in our school. All the girls coloured beautiful pictures. Bonnie won first prize in our class for her entry. Well done Bonnie!

We have a little book worm in our class, Hannah took part in the Summer Stars Reading Adventure at her local library. Hannah read lots of books over the summer holidays and was awarded a certificate and medal. Well done Hannah keep reading all those books.

Ms. Powers Class had a great time at the Halloween party, lots of arts and crafts, storytelling and a disco. Thank you to all the mammies who helped out on the day too.

Ms. Powers 2nd Class went on a tour of Waterford Crystal. We saw how the glass was made and then cut. It was a great day and we even sang ‘Who will light the lantern’ for the workers and we got a big round of applause.

Ms. Powers 2nd Class and Ms. Hogans Language Class visited Winterval in December. We all hung decorations on the giving tree, posted letters to Santa and went to storytelling in the Book Centre. We found out how the Wren became the king of all birds. It was such a fun day and we were all exhausted by the time we got back to school.
