Second Class

Miss O'Connor

April…

Miss O’Connor’s 2nd Class received their certificates for all their hard work and dedication in completing the Fyffes Fit Squad Ireland’s Fittest School Challenge. The competition ran for 6 weeks throughout February and March. The girls finished 9th out of all the schools in Ireland that participated. Well done girls you all worked so hard.

March…

Miss O’Connor’s 2nd Class girls celebrated ‘Welcome to Our World Wednesday’ by inviting our School of Sanctuary visitors to our classroom to discuss all the ways in which we feel safe and welcome in our school. We were delighted to be chosen to be one of the classes to get a visit from the wonderful school of sanctuary visitors. We were delighted when we heard the great news of our school being crowned a ‘School of Sanctuary’

December…

Miss O’Connor’s class recently completed the 4 week Dare to Believe Olympic Movement Breaks programme. The girls absolutely loved completing the movement breaks at 10:25 every day just before little break. We all felt more alert, active and ready to learn after completing them each day. We are ready to start our next active movement break challenge!

November…

During November our class really enjoyed experimenting both in the classroom and in the hall with 6th Class during Science week. We are enjoying the ‘Dare to Believe Olympic Movement Breaks’ for the past two weeks. We have completed various challenges and exercises instructed by Irish olympians daily. We are really looking forward to the next two weeks of the programme!

Our class have been very busy as they have also been getting involved in ‘Rhythm and Shakes’ every Thursday. With Cathy, we have been learning to play Djembe drums, dancing and play with boomwhackers and many other instruments. Thank you so much Cathy for coming into us!
October…
In October we enjoyed displaying our Halloween skeleton masterpieces that we made during art.
We had great fun during  Maths Week. We used cubes to help us learn about the greater than and less than signs.
